About Us

Our History

The 4WD Adventurers Club of SA Inc was founded in JuneĀ 1991 by former WEA 4WD Maintenance Course instructor Tom Hewitson and a group of his students. At the conclusion of the course Tom suggested the need for a 4WD Club in the North Eastern suburbs which set the wheels in motion (pardon the pun). He invited course graduates and other interested parties to a meeting at his workshop, where ideas were presented, discussed and implemented. In short, the outcome of that meeting was as you may have guessed the formation of our club. On the 4th of September 1991 our club received it's "Certificate of Incorporation", which made it official, and we have being going strong ever since.
4WD SAAs an official 4 wheel drive club of South Australia we are also affiliated with 4 Wheel Drive SA, who set the guidelines for 4 wheel drive clubs here in SA.
