About Us

Our History

The 4WD Adventurers Club of SA Inc was founded in JuneĀ 1991 by former WEA 4WD Maintenance Course instructor Tom Hewitson and his students. Following the conclusion of the course Tom voiced the need for a 4WD Club in the North Eastern suburbs which set the wheels in motion (pardon the pun). He invited course graduates and other interested parties to a meeting at his workshop, where ideas were presented, discussed and resolved. In short, the outcome of that meeting was as you may of guessed was the formation of our club. On the 4th of September 1991 our club received it's "Certificate of Incorporation", which made it official, and we've being going strong ever since.
4WD SAAs an official 4 wheel drive club of South Australia we are also afiliated with 4 Wheel Drive SA. Who set out all guidelines for all 4 wheel drive clubs here in SA.

Our Objectives

Our objectives are to:
  • Bring together like minded 4 wheel drive enthusiasts who share our belief of respect for the environment and each other.
  • Promote responsible use and enjoyment while driving our 4 wheel drive vehicles.
  • Provide technical and driver assistance where possible.
  • Provide driver training and log book training with our nationally accredited trainers (please note that training and log book training is for financial members only).
  • Organise trips and socialising events.
  • Provide community assistance, like, helping our communities with road side clean up, park working bees and sporting events.
